Cinemafia wordt vertoond op Jean Rouch symposium in Parijs

The ‘Comité du Film Ethnographique’ is preparing a Symposium on Jean Rouch (French filmmaker and anthropologist) in November from 14 to 20 in Paris. Rouch is considered to be one of the founders of the cinéma vérité in France, sharing the aesthetics of the direct cinema in the US pionered by Richard Leacock,D.A. Pennebaker and Albert and David Maysles. Rouch’s practice as a filmmaker for over sixty years in Africa, was characterized by the idea of shared anthropology. CINEMAFIA is a cinema verité portrait of Joris Ivens and Henri Storck filmed by Rouch, Roger and Robert Busschots and Dirk Nijland. The short documentary ‘CINEMAFIA’ is screened the 15th.
