Calling Museum Filmmakers
Brescia, Italy, 03 augustus 2012 –
This year, for the first time in its history, the celebrated FilmLabFestival will showcase films made by museums. A new judging category entitled ‘Museums in Short’ will demonstrate the important role museums play in innovative video production, acknowledging that short films are a valuable instrument for disseminating museum content in an engaging and direct way.

Two awards will be presented at the ninth annual festival in the Italian town of Brescia in November: the musilAward for the best short film related to museums of contemporary history, ecomuseums, science centres, museums of science and museums of industry; and the Santa Giulia Award for the best short film related to art museums and city museums.
The competition is being organised by the European Museum Academy (EMA), Museum of Santa Giulia and Museum of Industry and Labour (musil). The judging panel will be made up of director and festival president Luca Lucini and other professionals from the sector.
