Roger en Robert are originally anthropologist-filmmakers. Robert was teacher ethnocinematography at the Catholic University of Nijmegen and guest-teacher 16mm filmtechnology at the Academy of Visual Arts in Amsterdam.
Roger is among other things specialized in cultural productions and has won the Sony Video Award with Chado, de Weg van de Thee, made by order of the National Museum of Cultural Anthropology in Leiden.
Roger en Robert were born on April 16 1948 in Antwerp and took classes in Modern Humaniora, painting techniques at the Art Academy and ethnomusicology and phenomenology of music at the Antwerp School of Music. Already at a young age they began filming when their father gave them a second hand double-8 camera.
In 1967 they came to the Netherlands to study cultural anthropology. In 1975 they graduated having specialized in ethnocinematography. Roger also took courses in graphical techniques and Robert applied himself to non-western languages and specialized in communication problems with regard to allochtonous people.
After their Belgian military services in Germany they returned to the Netherlands and soon received order after order (Tropenmuseum, IKON-tv, Museon, etc.) At this time Roger was also active as visual artist (etches, monotypes), had exhibitions and had work in consignation at several galeries.

Robert en Roger had the honour to make a documentary together with Joris Ivens, Jean Rouch and Henri Storck. Cinemafia received a standing ovation at the Rotterdam Filmfestival.
In March 1983 Infofilm was established. Infofilm is known for its innovative and sound productions in the field of video as well as interactive cd-roms.
